It all started with a visit on Monday,
11/03/2002, from Kevin Pereira of USJ5 to the USJ17 Community Centre.
He related stories of how 11 houses were
burgled within a span of 10 days in his community. Including one recent incident in which
physical violence was involved, resulting in skull injuries for the house
owner.
We understand that police reports were made
and the residents were all up in arms about protecting their families and
properties.
Some 100 residents gathered
for a short briefing on Sunday, 17/03/2002 which according to
reports from Raymond Tan (USJ18) was unfortunately disrupted by the rain.
Not, however, before a Pro Tem Committee was formed by a group of
gallant Residents who have volunteered in the true spirit of
neighbourliness to serve the community.
Jeff Ooi of
www.usj.com.my has in the meantime
started a Forum under the e-Neighbourhood Category on his website to
assist USJ5 residents communicate electronically. You can directly access news about our
