- Residents who are presently on our mailing list would probably
have received the email dated 08/01/2005 with regards to the use of
Mobile SMS to send Important and Urgent Messages to our Residents (email is
reproduced below). On 18/01/2005 we
also sent the
following SMS Message to Residents who were not on our mailing
list, but had left contact numbers when they registered with us on previous occasions (i.e. during the
USJ23 Night Patrolling era).

You
are on the USJ23 SMS List, I assume that it is alright
with you. However, should you find it annoying, just let
me know and I will remove you immediately

The feedback that we have received from all residents, indicates that
everyone is in favour of the use of this new mode of communication
in our Neighbourhood.
As such, we have now subscribed to a web based
bulk SMS solution. The key features of this solution is that it
comes ready with a web based online control panel for sending SMS
directly without the use of a Mobile Phone. There is no setup costs
or fees involved, however, each SMS sent is priced at 14sen regardless of
the receiving Mobile Operator (telco). This service will be
provided, free to all
Residents of USJ23.
This is yet another platform on which
we can use to protect our common interests by
developing better participation amongst our Residents through the
sharing of knowledge and information which would result in better
understanding, goodwill and harmony in our neighbourhood. With this new tool, we can now send
SMS Messages directly to all registered Residents' Mobile Phones
within a very short period of time. This would come in very handy when
there is an emergency in our Taman and/or when we need to share information
with
Residents.

Please take note that
messages sent from the USJ23 SMS Alert Server will bear a
Sender
ID: USJ23.COM
