The Official Launching of
MCPF website and Give away of Bravery Awards Dinner at Mandarin Oriental
Hotel, Kuala Lumpur by Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib Tun
Abdul Razak, was attended by VIPs, various state MCPF representatives
including delegations from the most active
Neighbourhood Watch groups, USJ16, USJ18 and USJ23 together with
representatives of the USJ Resident's Association (USJRA) and Jawatankuasa
Penduduk MPSJ Zon3 (JKP Zon3).
Messrs.
AP
Lyon,
Khor Siek Choon, Roslan Ali, Beh Yong Hock,
Robert and Annie Chan all dressed up to the hilt, represented USJ23 at the
gala event.
The Secretary of the MCPF
at Bukit Aman took time out to specially introduce members of our
delegation to Dato' Lee Lam Thye, the Vice Chairman of MCPF before the start of dinner. Dato' Lee
commented that he was surprised to read that the crime rate in USJ is
still very high, even with N/W Groups. He was assured by our Committee
Members that those areas without N/W Groups contributed a large part to
the crime figures, whilst those areas with N/W Groups continue to have
relatively low crime, if not completely crime free.
Maybe we should work toward
organising a Neighbourhood Watch Drive with MCPF to recruit new members,
in existing USJ areas and starting it in areas where it has not been
formed.
