Metro Mail

USJ resident left in the dark

I HAVE tried to contact all the relevant parties, namely TNB, MPSJ and Sime UEP for the last two months to look into the problem of streetlights at USJ 23/5 which have been out of order.

Sad to note that I have been passed around during this period and I am running out of options as to who should look into the problem.

Four streetlights along the stretch of USJ 23/5 have not been working since end of February.

I started contacting TNB in the first week of March on their helpline number 15454. I had spoken to them seven times.

During my last call, I was informed that it was under the jurisdiction of MPSJ since it was a steel streetlight pole instead of the normal concrete one.

I have contacted MPSJ engineering department three times. During the last conversation, I was told that it was under Sime UEP's maintenance.

I then contacted Sime UEP operations department twice. On the second call, I was told that it was under the care of MPSJ.

I am lost as to who should be responsible for this.

During this period while attempting to resolve the streetlight problem, a lorry was stolen and construction workers were assaulted and recently three houses were broken into.

If the problem had been attended to upon my first complaint, some of the above incidents could have been avoided.

Are we going to allow further undesirable incidents to take place before the necessary course of action is taken?

Please help!!

WORRIED RESIDENT,
Subang Jaya.
