Dear Residents
It has
been almost 2 to 3 years since all of you moved into USJ23. Apart from
the incident of break-ins from the rooftop that happened on the unfortunate
‘April Fool’ day 1-04-2001, we can proudly claim that there hasn’t been any
single break-in thereafter. In other words, we are living in a zero-crime
rate environment.
Occasionally, we heard about break-in, snatch thief snatching handbag and
etc from women or old ladies in front of their houses or even robberies in
other part of USJ, but all these seem "alien" to all of us. However, all the
residents must be reminded that this ‘crime free environment’ does not
come ‘free of charge’. It is through the commitment and teamwork from all
the NW Pro Tem Committee Members and the majority of the residents that
contributed to the success.
Starting from 21-08-2002, the duty roster will be rescheduled whereby our
security guards will carry out 24 hours security on every Monday and
Tuesday of every week. Due to work commitment , 27 residents have opted
to pay RM75.00 to employ security guards to take care of the night
security. To the 27 residents, I wish to thank them for their
co-operation.
However, we regret that we still have a handful of residents (who used to
be our staunch supporter) who refused to carry out night-watch duty and
yet are reluctant to join this group of 27 residents.
To
this small group of residents, I wish to urge them to reconsider their
decision. They must remember that the task of maintaining zero crime rate
in our housing area will become easier if each and everyone of us give
his/her co-operation to the Committee. Lastly, Dear Residents, let us work
together and volunteer our service to the Community not for personal glory
but for the common good, that is a safer and crime-free environment in USJ23.

News Brief
-
Great news to all the
residents. The parameter fencing is now being erected. It will be
completed in 2 or 3 weeks time. The next great news is that all the
residents are not required to contribute anything towards the
cost of the fencing. Approximately 70% of the costs will be funded from
the monthly collection accumulated over the last 2 years. Our ADUN Dato
Lee has agreed to pay for the other 30% of the costs.
