USJ23 Neighbourhood

Date :  28-12-2002

Dear Residents of USJ 23,

1.         24 Hour Security

a)        It has been almost two (2) months since we started 24 hour security services  in USJ23. While we admit that the performance of the 24 H guards do not  live up to our expectation, we are happy to announce that there was not a  single break-in happened in USJ23  as at to date. (except for an attempted theft of a Toyota Prado on 28 December 2002  between  12.30 pm to 1.00pm. along USJ 23/3). – For the full story please refer to our website.

b)         It is one of the terms of letter of appointment that the guard must put down  the barricade 24 hours per day and We are consistently monitoring the performance of the guards. However, it is rather difficult to devise a system whereby the guards (especially the night guards) will be monitored 24 hours.

Therefore, all USJ 23 Residents are requested to help the Committee to monitor the performance of the night guards. Those residents who come back late after mid-night are requested to ensure the guards are performing their duties diligently.

Incidents of sleeping while on duty or failure to put down the barricade are regarded as failure in performing their duties. Such incidents must be reported to the following Committee Members so that the problem can be rectified immediately: -

  1.   Beh Yong Hock    - 019-3261830
  2.   Robert Chan - 012-2093093
  3.   Chua Kong Khai  - 012-3258388
  4.   Yee Foon Kong - 016-3947851
  5.   Samsad Ahmad Khan - 012-6922670

c)         As at to date, a total of 110 residents  are contributing to the 24 Hour Security . The list of the contributors is posted at the guardhouse and a copy of which is enclosed herewith for perusal.

2.          Attempted Theft Of Toyota Prado

The incident happened on 28th December 2002 between 12.30 – 1.00 p.m.  along USJ 23/3. 2 young Chinese men came in during the guard’s lunch  break. Apparently, the thieves came with a duplicate key of the Toyota Prado. The owner of the vehicle was very fortunate that the attempt to steal the Toyota Prado failed because a relative happened to arrive before they could escape with the vehicle.

We understand from the owner he had sent his Prado a week ago to  the IOI MALL car wash, because his regular car washer was closed.

When you leave your car at the car wash, it takes only a few seconds to  duplicate your car key with a piece of soap or plasticine. Therefore, all USJ 23 residents are requested to be extra careful and vigilant, make sure your cars are properly locked and if possible, park your car inside your house, make  sure you send your cars to the same mechanic or car washer all the time so that the chances of them duplicating your car keys are reduced.

3.          Kempen Anti Pecah Rumah

In view of the success of the aforesaid campaign during the Hari Raja Aidilfitri holidays, all USJ 23 residents are requested to give your fullest co-operation  to the police by filling up the forms and hand it over to you row leader or Balai Polis USJ 8. The 2nd campaign will be launched before Chinese New  Year holidays. Help the Police in order for them to help us to reduce the crime rate.

Wishing all USJ23 Residents A Happy New Year.

Beh Yong Hock
Chairman,
USJ 23 Resident & N/W Pro Tem Committee 2002/3
